Transport Police investigating incident at Oxford Street Tube
(ShareCast News) - Police are asking people in the vicinity of the Oxford Circus Tube station to take cover inside buildings.
Transport police were already at the scene and investigating "a customer incident", the BBC reported, citing Transport for London.
Via its Twitter account, Transport police asked that the public avoid the area and that the station had been closed.
For its part, the Metropolitan Police said it was responding to reports that shots had been fired on Oxford Street and on the underground at Oxford Circus.
